5 Questions to NEVER Skip When Booking a Thailand Wedding Photographer

(…Unless You Want to Cry Over Your Photos!)

Your wedding photos are forever—but Thailand’s humidity, chaotic timelines, and cultural nuances can turn your dream gallery into a disaster if you don’t ask these 5 questions. (Trust me, I’ve fixed too many “urgent” editing requests from heartbroken couples.)

1. “ CAN YOU SHOW ME A FULL WEDDING GALLERY (NOT JUST HIGHLIGHTS) ? ”

❌ Why Most Skip It: They get dazzled by 10 perfect Instagram shots.

💡 Why It’s Critical:

  • Highlights hide inconsistent editing (e.g., some photos bright/others yellow).

  • Reveals if they miss key moments (e.g., only 2 pheras shots out of 7).
🚨 Pro Tip: Ask for a rainy-day wedding gallery—Thailand’s weather is unpredictable!

2. “ DO YOU BRING BACKUP GEAR ? (THAI HUMIDITY KILLS CAMERAS.) ”

❌ Horror Story: A groom’s camera died mid-vidaai… and his second shooter’s SD card corrupted.

💡 Must-Ask:

  • “How many cameras/lenses do you bring?” (Ideally 2+ bodies, 3+ lenses.)

  • “Do you use dual SD cards?” (If no, run—one card failure = lost memories.)
🔥 Script: “Show me a backup gear photo from your last wedding!”

3. “ HOW DO YOU HANDLE MANDAP LOW-LIGHT WITHOUT FLASH ? ”

❌ The Mistake: Assuming “natural light” works for 6AM pheras in a dim ballroom.

💡 Reality Check:

  • Flash can ruin the sacred vibe (and anger priests).

  • Look for high ISO skills + fast lenses (f/1.8 or lower).
📸 Test Them: “Show me a mandap shot you took in candlelight!”

4. “ WILL YOU HELP PLAN A TIMELINE THAT FITS BOTH TRADITIONS AND SUNSET ? ”

❌ Classic Fail: Missing golden hour because the baraat ran late.

💡 Savvy Solution:

  • Photographers should buffer 30+ mins for delays.

  • Demand a shot list that prioritizes:

  • Golden hour portraits (non-negotiable!).

  • Family combos (who’s actually important).
⏰ Pro Tip: Ask for a sample timeline from their past Indian wedding.

5. “ WHAT’S YOUR WORST THAILAND WEDDING DISASTER ? (IF THEY SAY ‘NONE,’ THEY’RE LYING.) ”

❌ Red Flag:“Nothing ever goes wrong!” (LOL, monsoons/flat batteries exist.)

💡 Green Flag:

  • “Once, my drone died—so we used a 10ft pole for aerial shots!” (Problem-solvers win.)

  • “A bride’s lehenya tore—we shot close-ups of her jewelry while it was fixed.”
🌟 Key: Their response tells you if they panic or pivot.
